non-swap scores, but if it were, I would go with PC vs. I realize it would likely be equally as impossible as proving swap vs. I wish I had read this before getting score obsessed as I may have simply not posted any of mine and instead have used this site simply for reference. I often see a Top score that I am so close to and wonder if I should keep trying or was it obtained with a swap? They should be required to post on the walkthrough page if they used one, so we can move on if we know that’s why we can’t beat it! I hope this makes sense…I think a lot of Nesters would appreciate it -) As usual, Thank you for ALL of your hard work 8-) That way at least we know what we’re up against and we can be that much prouder when we manage to get and even keep a Top score with out a swap being used.
Perhaps that would help everyone, especially those of us that want to keep our scores “pure”. So this should be enforced! I have managed to get some Top Scores WITH OUT SWAPS, even three are still holding on EtT P2-8, 9, & 10 -) When I see Top Scores posted, I simply want to know if they were used with a swap and if so which one and how was it used! You requested this from everyone so I only hope it will be enforced. “However, please submit a strategy on our walkthrough pages explaining which characters were used and how you used them” This is really no different except you are allowing swap scores, HOWEVER you BOLDLY wrote, I do want for everyone to think about this: On the Episodes that still do not have the distinction of the lightening bolts for PU’s, you asked everyone to NOT add power-up scores…so with those Episodes in mind…we have already been on the “honor” system so to speak with those…. I do wish Rovio had made it obvious when one was – I do not intend to use telepods or swaps however I understand completely why you (all admins) decided they kinda have to be allowed on ABSW II. Still, I don’t have all of them (I received the star destroyer set although my Panaka doesn’t work), and I only use them in creative ways. It’s added a dimension to the game that is refreshing, although my heart aches that since not everyone has access to someone in their life who can buy them fun things like Telepods. Although there are still some levels where I have flagged scores, even with possible Telepod use. With the exception of a few levels (for instance, swapping in Vader on the first level where Sidious is introduced), the scores are not VASTLY higher.
They helped me get a few hundred points (so far) here and there and it’s been actually fun to figure out where they were useful.Īnd in that, I find comfort. They were bought for me by my significant other and I must say it is incredibly fun. And I understand that is why this is the way it is. As was pointed out to me upon my question earlier, there is no way to tell if a score was obtained with a swap. I agree with the purists but also see the side of the administration on this one.

I encourage anyone that is upset about swaps being allowed on this leaderboard to buy yourself a permanent character (with the free credits that you hopefully saved) and join in. So again, thanks and the rest of you guys for making the choice that had to be made, whether we like it or not. I could go on about the ups and downs of Rovio’s decision making, but this was supposed to be about the leaderboards here. I just bought Darth Vader and I’m excited to boost my scores on ABN.

This is horrifically and unacceptably expensive, but you can get enough credits for FREE through achievements to buy any character just by playing the game.
I don’t know how much telepods cost (and they also are themselves a toy so I won’t include them), but buying a permanent character in game costs between $20 and $50. On the flip side, the clear issue is the absurdly high prices for credits. It’s a great step away from the “greedy” nature of temporary purchases. Angry Birds is all about failing and retrying, and when failure costs money there’s a big problem. It’s why I bought mighty eagles but never space eagles. It doesn’t matter if you bought telepods or in the shop, being able to use a character as many times as you want fixes one of the main issues with power ups. Allowing swaps on the leaderboard for this game was certainly the right choice, and this is because of what separates the power ups in this game from any other AB game: The ability to use swaps permanently. It’s been two and a half months since I made this comment, and I want to say that I have changed my mind.
