Ryley Walker has made one of this years best albums with the marvellous ‘Primrose Green’ but this collaboration with Darts and Arrows guitarist Bill MacKay is a very different and more low key proposition.Įntirely instrumental, the two guitarists wander around each other on a series of gorgeously strung out pieces that suggest lots of improvisation and little rehearsal. With his much fancied Primrose Green record but a few months old and bootlegs of his ever-evolving live show solidifying his solid gold standard, it’s hard to not imagine Walker dressed as Midas and touching loads of random objects in 2015.
